Florida, 2015.

We went to Florida in the middle of January... two years in a row we've made this same trip at the same time of the year... I smell a family tradition in the making :) Spending some time with these  two, in the sunshine, close to the ocean... It was just a really wonderful way to start off the new year and get a little break from the winter.

Navi had a typical case of the prevacation-childhood-jitters that I remember so well. She remembered our Florida trip from last year and it was so cute to see her be so excited about everything this time around. We had to wake her up about four hours earlier than usual and she handled it like a champ. She literally squealed with excitement when we got to the airport and wanted to make sure we had time for some "airport mischief" before boarding our plane. Sooo I let her dig in one of those big woodchip planter thingies (so gross by the way!) and she totally loved it.

We were all pretty exhausted by the time we got to our hotel but Navi quickly perked right up when she saw the beach from our balcony window. We had the BEST time on our trip- she's at such a fun age right now and it was just exactly what a family vacation should be... busy in the best of ways and low stress and all play and she even slept well. It was perfection! It rained on and off a few of the day's that we were there and she couldn't have cared less. She would say "I not afwaid of da wain! Let's go!" And so together we'd all march right out onto the beach in the pouring rain and then retreat to the hot tub when it got too chilly.

The night before we were supposed to leave we randomly decided to extend our trip by an extra day and I'm sooooo glad we did. That last day and a half turned out to be one of our favorites of the whole vacation. I was so emotional the whole time we were there thinking about how this would be our last vacation as a family of three. I just hope with all my heart that when she's older she remembers this trip. Digging holes with her daddy and spinning on the beach with me.... This trip, just the three of us... It will forever hold a special place in my heart.

(Psst... photos from last year's Florida trip, HERE and HERE.)

And here's a short little video I made of or time together... I've watched it about ten million times... And I still cry every time.
