Some stuff for the record books.

Hi again! Things have been quiet over here on the blog front and thats mostly because things have been joyously busy in our day to day life. Not busy in a stressful running around like a chicken with your head cut off kind of way but busy like a still-playing-outside-when-the-sun-goes-down, go-to-bed-smelling-like-campfire kinda way. We are sooooo beyond excited that summer has finally decided to show itself, its been a long wait! We've had lots of new additions over here during these last several weeks so here goes a nice rambling-jumbled-longish post to cram all the updates in one place...Also, please note the squareness of all these photos. Yep. Pretty much a giant phone photo dump. I swear I take pictures with my big-girl-camera. And one day I will post some of said photos to document in this little space. But, today is not that day. And I'll be honest, tomorrows not looking likely either. Moving on...

We got a cat. Wait, let me back up. I'm not a cat person. Like AT all. BUT. This cat! Ugh, for this cat, I'll make an exception. And let her sleep on my bed ;) Her name is Kizzie. We weren't crazy about her name but she came to us already knowing it quite well so we figured who are we to change it? And low and behold with the seemingly daily addition of nicknames and name morphing, "Kizzie" is really growing on us. She is hands down the most affectionate cat I've ever met. She wants to be held allll the time and will literally jump into your arms out of nowhere. So if you come to our house, be prepared for a black ball of fur to come wizzing your way. Think fast. She is wonderful with Navi, gets along well with the dogs and is overall a pretty great life enhancement (and I totally never thought I'd say that about a cat). Now if I can just teach her to use the toilet we'll be in high cotton ;)

^^^ Oh, and we let her on the table... because we're sanitary like that.
Next order of business...

Ever since Chris and I were dating (which if you remember, this post you know thats quite a long time;)  we've wanted an RV. Ahhh the dream of traveling around from one adventure to another with a home on wheels sounds just like heavenly perfection to me. When we first got married we bought a 98 conversion van that was kind of like our way of easing into it I guess. It was a high top with a fold down bed in the back and lots and lots of teal velvet as far as the eye could see. We made a dream catcher for the rearview mirror and pampered that van like it was our first born child. Then the engine started coughing. And after lots of fixes it came down to needing a big kahuna type of fix and well, that just wasn't in the cards for us. So, off went the van. After the van went we would sometimes spend our weekends going to check out RVs that were for sale. We weren't exactly in a position to buy one but we figured there was no harm in dreaming a little. This is starting to sound like a bunch of rambles. So anyway, bottom line, we've wanted to adventure in an RV for as long as I can remember. In the middle of May we finally took our first baby steps towards making that dream a reality. We bought an RV! She is absolute perfection and everything we've ever dreamed of in a home on wheels. Its a 1975 Bluebird Wanderlodge. All original and in immaculate condition (minus some exhaust issues). I plan on doing a RV post soon with a little tour around Ole Arly. (Na named it "Arly" by the way. How cute is that?!)

Chickens! Remember wayyyy back in time when I talked about how excited I was to become a crazy chicken lady? Well, its now official. The chicks came in the beginning of May so I'm about a month in to my journey of becoming a sensei of the chicken. We have six little ladies living in our yard now. Navi named them all.... we have Baga, Ba-gee, Coco, Brownie, Snuggy and last but not least Oreo-Cream. We just got the coop about a week ago and let me tell you, life without chicken poop in my garage is top notch! The ladies love their new coop and we love going out to tend "the girls" throughout the day. Also, if you're reading this and you happen to be a master of the chicken-rearing-craft, please feel free to share your wisdom with me. But for real, pine shavings or sand for the coop? I'm getting so much conflicting advice, I can't decide! Coop stresssss! ;)
^^^ She helps with chicken coop care every morning. We call it the daily dump. She takes her role as the "dumper" veryyyy seriously ;)
Hmm, lets see... cat, RV, chickens... oh, my shop! (You can read more about me opening an Etsy shop in this post.) So Rad Earth Supply Co. has been open for about 3 months now and things are going wonderfully. Business is just about as much as I'm comfortable handling my mind is now totally programmed to think of things in reference to how they would look on a t-shirt haha! I have lots of new ideas of things to print and not enough time in the day to print them. Also, I just got a bunch of crewneck sweatshirts to add to the line up. So if you're a crewneck fan (who isn't?!) get excited, these are going to be off the charts in the radness department. Oh, and I'll be hosting a little giveaway over here pretty soon, so be on the lookout for that.

We had our 6th wedding anniversary on the 30th of May. So crazy to think we've been married for 6 years already. And then so crazy to think that we've been married for only 6 years? I guess we've totally been an old married couple since we were in high school so I'm gonna say we've been married for more like 12 years ;) Hey Chris, have I mentioned how thankful I am to be doing this life with you? Thanks for putting up with me and going along with my random, flighty ideas, and for helping my soul shine. I love you, I love you, I love you.
Other than that we've just been busy enjoying summer. More than I ever have before I'm just really appreciating summer and the changing of the seasons this time around. This winter was hard, really hard, and I'm just so happy to be able to watch my girl run barefoot (and bare bottomed!) through the grass again. She had her first campfire on Monday. She took a super late nap and didn't wake up until 6pm so then bedtime didn't happen until like 9pm. We filled those three hours with swimming in the lake, playing fetch with the dogs, gardening and having a campfire as a family. Complete with her very first s'more. Watching her and Chris wade out into the deep water together I just kept thinking to myself  I can't believe this is my life. I can't believe these beautiful people are my family. It kinda felt like that really wonderful epic moment of a dream right before you wake up. It's just a really wonderful season of life we're in right now, and I'm soaking in every last second of it :)
^^^ This girl does not believe in clothing. Unless its a "beau-ful" dress, she really would just rather let things be au naturale. So, I'm the parent with the nudist of a child. And I kinda love it. Let them be little, for they'll only be little a little while longer. Amen.
^^^"Watcha doin, Na?"... "Digging holes for doze mermaids to use".
^^^ First of the season.
^^^ She was disciplining all the algae covered rocks. "no no sippy rocks! Don't make Navi fall! Dats mamas baby, be careful wit her!" I about died of cuteness overload.
^^^ delivering flowers to the fairies. she gave them a piece of moss too... to use as a rug. naturally.

  8. Cats and dogs getting along! How cute! Chickens in the coop? If there's one dream of yours that came true, it's owning an RV. You'll surely enjoy your trips with Chris and Navi. The question is, would Kizzie and your dog tag along too? Perhaps that's a thought you'd consider once you plan your first trip. For the meantime, enjoy the rest of the summer! Take care!
