Our Easter.

Things have been kinda hectic around here the last few days. We just got home from Mexico on Friday (a big sandy photodump coming soon-ish) so we are still trying to ease back into our normal routine/sleep habits. Fortunately no amount of sleep deprivation can get in the way of a good egg hunt. I'd like to think of myself as a bit of an egg-hunter-extraordinaire, so sharing the love of the hunt with my girl was pretty great. Its worthy of mentioning that I just stopped participating in my family's annual egg hunt when Navi was born. My family takes egg hunting quite seriously so I had no shame in my then 23 year old egg hunting game. I was a beast.

You still reading after that extremely unusual and awkward mix of self congratulation/humiliation? Cool...

Anyway, I've since retired my egg hunting crown and it seems I'll be passing my title over to Na. Sister took her egg hunt very seriously this year and I couldn't have been more proud. You should have seen her freak out on our dog when she tried to swipe the eggs out of her basket mid-hunt... She's doesn't really raise her voice so it was more of a loud whisper/shout, but I could feel the force behind those hushed words. She meant business.

We had a nice brunch later in the day with both sides of the family and the only disaster of the event was the burning of the cinnamon rolls (cough cough, CHRIS!). Great food, great company and great weather, it was a lovely day.

Hope your weekend was a wonderful one :)

and now a couple of cell phone shots because sometimes those are my favorite...

  4. What a charming little hunt. And a brave mama for dying! I, on the other hand, was about to do one last minute until I saw a friend's video of her son dying eggs and decided that I do not need to be seeking more chaos. Yours though looks far from chaotic.

    Rambling commence.
