The fair.

My little family and I went to the fair with my parents, sisters and their friends and it was quite a success. Navi loved getting an up close look at some of her favorite animals and getting a chance to really practice her best "moo" mimicking skills. I so loved watching her face light up with each new discovery...and the lemonade. I totally wait all year for that lemonade.

When we first got to the fair she reached for my dad and kind of insisted that he carry her around. He happily obliged to her request (like seriously, pretty sure this made his weekend) and chauffeured her around to all of the livestock barns before she decided she was ready for some mama-time. She seemed much braver than usual to me while my dad was carrying her (I've always felt like he has a real calming effect about him- she must've felt that way too). She wasn't nervous at all around any of the animals and was so excited about getting to pet them (the pigs were her favorite).

We stuffed ourselves with fair food and that picky eater of mine even sampled most of our fair fare before deciding that she preferred her bottled water and the packed-from-home-snacks I brought her (insert hearts-in-eyes-emoticon, here). We rode the carousel, went down the giant slide and wandered toddler-style through the parking lot before calling it a day. After two years of wonderful trips to the fair I'm thinking we're going to call it a family tradition :)
^^^ "Papa, eyeeee." This poor cow took a knuckle deep eye poke from Navi just like a champ... and still felt happy enough to give my dad some cow-kisses.
^^^ This poor bursting-at-the-seams mama cow really tugged at my heart....
^^^Despite my best exciting-cheering-mama-face, after about two rotations around the carousel we were sitting on the bench. She really wanted to ride and then quickly decided it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. So for the next ten circles or so I had to convince her that we were having fun...there were no meltdowns during that two minute ride so I think she bought it.
^^^ Poor empty-stroller-pushing-ticket-buying-picture-snapping dad.... sadly, this is one of the only picture I have of the two of them from the fair.
^^^Hands down my very favorite part of the fair :)
^^^ Parking lot shenanigans. As per the ushe. (This is the "Pick me! Pick me!" game. Natalie won.)
